KIRSTY & ROGER Have you ever wondered how a highly sought after wedding photographer would propose to his beloved? Well in this particular case the answer might just surprise and delight you. Kirsty and Roger had been a couple for approximately three years when Kirsty realised their constant attendance at weddings in a professional capacity, may have left Roger a little desensitised to the romanticism of marriage. So being the confident and creative women she is – she decided to propose to Roger. Whilst shopping in Perth City, Kirsty saw her must have engagement ring at Koro Jewellers. Subtly encouraging Roger into the store she had him try on dress rings and mentally noted one that he admired. Returning to the store the next day Kirsty purchased the ring that was to be Roger’s engagement ring and cemented her decision on the perfect ring for herself that had initially drawn her into the store. She left it there with the clear intention of bringing Roger back to purchase it once she had proposed to him. That weekend was Roger’s birthday, the fancy restaurant was secured, a nice dinner was enjoyed and the event was about to unfold. Kirsty declared “I guess it is about time to give you your birthday present”. She got up off her chair, walked to Roger’s side of the table, got down on one knee, produced the ring and asked if he would marry her! As Kirsty describes it; “The look on his face was one I will never forget. It was a mixture of ‘What the?’, ‘HELP!’ and ‘Oh my god I am so embarrassed’. He didn’t know what to do so just said ‘Get up off the floor’. But I stayed there and asked him again. The only reason he said ‘yes’ was to get me back in my seat so people would stop looking at us. And that is how Kirsty embarrassed Roger into marrying her ! The story was not complete however until Kirsty could get her engagement ring, so the following week she went back to Koro, only to be told the ring had already been sold. So a very miserable Kirsty lamented her misfortune to her betrothed; Roger just smiled at her and produced a small box from his pocket...... it was Kirsty’s ring. He is just as sneaky as she is; making them a perfect match for each other. |
